Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday, 28 February said that Pakistan will release captured pilot Abhinandan Varthaman on Friday as a peace gesture and an effort to de-escalate Indo-Pak tensions.
Pakistan Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi had earlier said that the country is willing to consider returning the pilot if it means de-escalation.
Speaking to Geo News, Qureshi further said, “Prime Minister Imran Khan is ready to hold a telephonic conversation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”
